Last night I went to see the superb Ukulele Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall as part of Radio 3's Proms season. One of the best things about my job is that I now get to work on projects across all networks and not just Radio 1.
The orchestra had encouraged the audience to bring their own ukuleles so that they could all join in on a rendition of Ode To Joy. Approximately 1000 people brought their instrument and the result was incredible.
We wanted to capture the experience with an image of the entire crowd that would enable people to find themselves playing their ukuleles... A chance to prove they had performed at the Royal Albert Hall. Not an easy task given the size and shape of the venue. However, with a super-wide lens and using Microsoft's Deep Zoom we did it.
